West Brom striker Nicolas Anelka has
defended himself on Twitter after making an apparently anti-Semitic
gesture during Saturday's 3-3 draw at West Ham.
The
veteran former France centre forward appeared to celebrate his
first-half equaliser with what is known in France as the 'Quenelle' - a
gesture made by touching the shoulder with the opposite hand, keeping
the arm pointed downwards.
Anelka tweeted on Saturday evening: 'This gesture was just a special dedication to my comedian friend Dieudonne.'
